Fire Officer II
Addressing the Fire Officer II job performance requirements of the NFPA 1021 standard, this course builds on the skills learned in Introduction to Fire Officer I and Fire Officer I. Students begin to examine the functions of a “Managing Fire Officer.” Topics include government administration, human resource management, media relations, budgeting, fire inspection practices, analyzing injuries, post-incident analysis, preparing for the future. Complex emergency response scenarios are also discussed. The final exam for this course is the National Certification exam, and will address course topics and pre-requisite topics.
Designed for: Fire officers who lead and manage firefighters and other fire officers

Prerequisite: Fire Officer I, Fire Service Instructor I, and Principles of Fire Investigation.
